Inspiration: This is my first original character costume created by my mommy and daddy and drawn by Lindsay at CutePet.
Favorite Aspect: The bells of course. Her skirt turned out great: the zigzag is blue vinyl (also used for her bracelets & choker), and the 'belt' is actually the waistband made of leftover black vinyl from pirate May. I had the studs that had fallen off an ancient dress and installed them by hand. Aaaaand...the giant sewing needle was so cool! Thanks to John & Carmel who found the raw item and started the woodwork ^_^ Dad finished it with lots of sanding & paint.
Least Favorite Aspect: I tried to wire up the back of the coat so the tails would flare to the sides, but I couldn't quite figure it out with the way it was sewn. Oh well, there's always another chance in version 2.
Easiest Task: Light-up shoes! The ears & tail were pretty simple too: wire, fuzzy gray fabric, and lots of fabric glue.
Hardest Task: Vinyl is evil! It sticks to the machine instead of going through ;_; That funky black trim on the sleeves & pants was pretty annoying too. We couldn't find black or gray eyelet so I used ribbon which looked fine but took a lot of tries to get it sewn onto the outfit correctly...because I was sewing close to the edge, it was easy to miss parts of the ribbon & end up with loose areas. Dang!
