Inspiration: I've loved the books since I was a kid, so I really wanted to do an Oz costume at some point. I based this dress on a combination of the original illustrations along with a more recent illustration by Eric Shanower.
Favorite Aspect: The crown, my dad helped me make it out of styrene. I love it! Unfortunately it broke at Comic Con, so it's got to have repairs before I can wear it again.
Also, I was amazed at how many people recognized the character at Comic Con! It was really great to meet so many other Oz fans.
Least Favorite Aspect: Nothing actually! :) I love how everything came out and it's so comfortable.
Easiest Task: Making the dress. I made an underdress that had strips of different coloured chiffon attached, that help poof out the outer dress, and also show through the outer layer of organza a bit. I like the effect.
Hardest Task: Embroidering the shoes, but that wasn't really hard.
