HEADSET:

A jogging radio bought for $7 at the Belz Factory Outlet. It was painted with a light blue paint (Rust-oleum enamel) from Super WalMart. The logo on the side was taken from the website and printed onto a folder label. WARNING: When spray painting things like this, you will occasionally run into certain plastics that won't hold the paint. The connecting bar at the top of the headset was one such piece. We taped masking tape to the underside (concealed) of the headseat to avoid the paint getting in Shannon's hair.

LOGO ON FRONT:

An iron-on transfer was printed out and applied to a felt pad that was made as a sticker to be easily mounted. This created the raised effect.

MICROPHONE:

$1 from the toystore. The Space Channel Five is the same logo printed in color and mounted onto a thick posterboard (with glue!) It was then hot-glued in place

HAIR:

Spray on hair dye. $5 or so per can at Hot Topic in the Altamonte Mall.

BACKPACK:

The two canisters are empty bubble (the ones you blow with soap water) containers that were $2 each at Super WalMart. They were spraypainted with the same blue paint mentioned before. The canisters were then velcroed together in the middle (for easier assembly.) Connecting the backpack was tricky. We bought an orange belt that closely matched the main costume, and cut it into two straps. These straps were fit in through slits in the back of the costume and the canisters, and clasped together with velcro.

THE GLOVES:

The gloves Shannon wore were actually a second attempt. The first pair were made entirely of the shiny orange and turned out looking like dishwashing gloves. The ones she wore are two pieces: orange fabric gloves with a shiny orange cover that snaps in place.
Overall estimated cost: $75

THE BOOTS:

Cheap boots bought from a mall store called Traffik. They cost $15-$20, and were painted with orange spray paint. The heals are painted with red spray paint. IMPORTANT NOTE: When painting a second color on boots, use masking tape and *wax paper* to mask the other parts of the boot. Using newspaper always has bad results as it sticks to spray paint.

GUN:

$2 watergun came from Belz and was spray painted.

GARTER:

$5 from Fredrick's of Hollywood.
