Inspiration: I was fed up with my Maia costume and needed to find something else to work on. A friend sent me some of the character designs from FFX and I absolutely fell in love with Lulu's design.
Favorite Aspect: The hair. I bought an asymmetrical bob wig and trimmed it so that I could use the front half of it as "bangs." I pulled my own hair back into a bun, sprayed it a darker brown, and put a fake bun over my own with the braids attached inside of it. It worked out quite well, actually. The bangs in the front could have used some training so that they hang more like Lulu's, but I didn't have time to mess with them.
Least Favorite Aspect: Either the fact that it's so freaking innacurate or wearing two corsets (one structural and one for show) to get the desired effect. Oh - and the fact that apholstry vinyl wrinkles like crazy and just doesn't ship well, period.
Easiest Task: Making the pattern for the corset/skirt/sleeves.
Hardest Task: Getting the silly thing to look right from one art sketch. The game hadn't come out yet and screenshots were dangerously scarce, so I really had very little to work from as far as color, shape, and many other aspects were concerned. It's almost embarrassingly inaccurate now that I think about it, but not too bad considering no one else knew what she looked like (or who she was) at that point, either. ^^;
