Inspiration: Two things inspired me to do this character:
1) Some friends were planning on going to A-kon and had a small Final Fantasy group formed. I'd seen the character design and thought to myself, "I could do that!"
2) "There's no way you can make that costume in three weeks!" Well, I'm stubborn. :P
This was my first foray into cosplay. The experience was fabulous and is the reason I came back for more. ^_^
Favorite Aspect: The "fan." It was incredibly time-consuming, but I'm reasonably happy with the way it came out.
Least Favorite Aspect: The papier mache horns. They're really ugly.
Easiest Task: The dress and the gloves. The dress was altered from something I already owned and the gloves were made for a previous costume.
Hardest Task: The horns on the headdress. I tried making them from Sculpey initially, but the headdress then weighed a ton! The night before the con, I ended up making a set out of papier mache. They were lumpy and awful, but I wouldn't have headaches.
I would like to completely rebuild this costume from scratch some day. There are so many things that could stand a bit of improvement!
