Inspiration: Out of all of her outfits, this one gets ignored the most, but I love it! Sleeping Beauty is also my favorite ballet production, and I really want to create a soft, feminine classical tutu! I learned a lot making her Odile tutu, but this one will have a few differences - it will not be hooped, will be double-hand pleated on all ten layers, have an all-on-one basque and bodice, be tacked more lightly, have a wider tutu, and a few other differences in construction.
Favorite Aspect: The tutu is gorgeous! I'm so happy with how it turned out. Double hand-pleating is a time-consuming but wonderful method.
Least Favorite Aspect: I really dislike the generic crown, so I am making my own original tiara, more like what you would see in the ballet - and it's much prettier!
Easiest Task: Pleating is easy. Time-consuming, but easy. Same with beading.
Hardest Task: Fitting everything just right is the biggest pain in the rear with tutus - much moreso when you have to make all the judgements yourself and don't have anyone around to help fit you properly! The bodice was the biggest challenge out of everything, because fitting a long-line bodice with hooks and bars is a pain in the BUTT.
